Hi there, my name is Lauren and I am the Mascarateer! I am in my late-20’s and I’ve only started to embrace makeup within the last couple of years. My hobby became an obsession and I was urged by many friends to consider starting a blog so I could share my passion and possibly justify my spending!
I’ve blogged on and off for as long as I can remember but only as a hobby blogger. I hope to stick to my guns and utilise my blog as a great way to learn, share and meet other bloggers or makeup lovers.
Outside of makeup and blogging, I enjoy playing video games, listening to Korean pop music and bumming around on the internet. Most of my interests are very lazy and I am quite the hermit, a lot of my make up looks are shot in trackpants and I often neglect styling my clothes despite having a full face done up.
Why Mascarateer? Originally I was going to be part of a three-person blog and we were trying to think of a name that would be makeup related but might also include the fact that we were a trio. I jokingly came up with the idea of The Three Mascarateers, it was pretty lame but I got a good chuckle out of it. In the end I ended up creating a solo blog and the name stuck. I wanted a name that stood out, was easy to remember and wasn’t already being used!
